Psplc - Process Simulator

Psplc is designed to work with PLCSIM 20-12, 5.4 (the part of TIA Portal the Siemens™ programing environment)

This universal process simulator can be used for building various technological models.

How does the simulator work?

The process simulator works in cycles.

At the beginning of each cycle PSPLC reads both the digital and analog OUTPUTS, then the calculations for all devices are done.

At the end of each cycle the process simulator sends all the INPUTS back to the PLCSIM.

PSPLC works with the ratio of about 10 cycles per second.

Setting the ethernet card
Turn on the ethernet card and connect to a card in another computer or a switch.
(The internet connection is not necessary)
~Any IP address can be entered.

Starting NetToPLCsim
Start NetToPLCsim before starting PLCSIM.
However the configuration of the NetToPLCsim should be done after starting PLCSIM.

Start PLCSIM and upload the program.

Starting order





Connection with PLCSIM 5.4

Recommended: Plcsim V5.4 + SP8 + Upd3. Rev No: K5.4.8.3 (included in PLCSIM V20)
or Plcsim V5.4 + SP8. Rev No: K5.4.8.0

Start TIA Portal and add the CPU: S300 or S400
set the following properties:

select: Project (RMB) Properties/Protection/Support simulation during block compilation
select: PLC (RMB) Properties... / General / Protection & Security / No protection

write the control program

Start PLCSIM 5.4
the best by pressing the "Start PLCSIM 5.4" button in PSPLC
(this prevent from uploading the hardware configuration)


Do not use "Start Simulation" in TIA Portal.
(that will also upload the hardware configuration)

Download to device only software in TIA Portal
Connect in PSPLC and set the switch to "RUN"
